Abstract submission for ISUOG 2007

Online submission of abstracts for the 17th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology is now closed. We would like to thank all of you who submitted a paper to ISUOG 2007.

Acceptance / rejection letters will be emailed to all abstract submitters so please read this correspondence carefully. Abstracts accepted for presentation will be published as a supplement to ISUOG’s official Journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology. All registered delegates receive a complimentary ISUOG membership and subscription to the Journal for 2008.

Please note, abstracts CANNOT be published or included in the program unless the appropriate registration fee has been received.

Abstracts that have been accepted for presentation will be published as a supplement to ISUOG’s official Journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology. By submitting your abstract you have agreed to transfer of copyright to ISUOG should your abstract be accepted.

CME accreditation
For Italian colleagues, accreditation of the Congress will be requested at the Italian Ministry of Health (ECM).

Approval of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) will also be sought. EACCME credits are also recognised by the American Medical Association. Please check our website for CME updates.

Discovering Florence Walking Tour

This discovery tour starts in the lively San Lorenzo market area characterised by its workshops and multicoloured stalls and home to the Medicean Chapels and the Basilica of S. Lorenzo. A short walk takes us to Piazza del Duomo to admire the famous and beautiful Cathedral with its Brunelleschi Dome, Giotto’s bell-tower and Baptistery with the ‘Doors of Paradise’. The tour continues along the medieval quarters where Dante Alighieri and Beatrice lived as well as a visit to the Palazzo del Bargello. See the nearby famous Piazza della Signoria; a great “open-air sculpture museum” overlooking the imposing Palazzo Vecchio. Arrive at the entrance to the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most important museums in the world. We then proceed to the picturesque Mercato della Paglia (Straw market) where the famous Piggy Fountain is located and walk along the street that leads to Ponte Vecchio, the “jewellery bridge”. Our tour comes to an end after a short walk across the bridge at the magnificent Pitti Palace.

Uffizi Gallery Tour

You cannot leave Florence without visiting the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most famous picture galleries in the world. The tour takes place in the late afternoon, when the number of visitors decreases, allowing a smoother visit of the Gallery. Through the explanations of our guide, among the other wonderful masterpieces, you will be able to admire the works of art by Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Giotto, Cimabue, Masaccio.

 

Shopping Outlet Afternoon

Shop in some of Italy prestigious fashion stores as this trip takes in the delights of the Prada outlet followed by the famous Mall (stop approximately 3 hrs) for the renowned high fashion companies like: Gucci - Giorgio Armani - Fendi - Ferragamo - Y.S. Laurent - Valentino - Ungaro - Zegna - Bottega Veneta - Sergio Rossi - Loro Piana.  The pleasant Cafİ in the Mall offers the chance to relax and watch the world go by (please note: food and drink extra). Pisa Trip

Famous for its architectural beauty we take this impressive excursion through the fertile and picturesque Tuscan countryside towards the historic University City of Pisa. After the panoramic drive by bus along the Arno embankment, the tour proceeds with a guided visit of Piazza dei Miracoli to find the celebrated Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, and unequalled masterpiece of Romanesque art carried out between the 11th and 12th centuries. Our guide will walk you to Piazza dei Cavalieri, where the Scuola Normale resides, one of the most famous universities in the world.

 

Guided Wine and Olive Oil tasting tour

Enjoy a pleasant afternoon in a typical Tuscan cosy wine shop with an oil and wine expert.  This tour includes a brief introduction to Chianti wines and olive oil, wine making and oil pressing techniques, as well as a fantastic opportunity to taste four prestigious wines and a sample some of the extra virgin olive oil made by selected Tuscan producers.  The tasting will be served with Tuscan salami, canap¨s and bruschetta.
